An experimental, essay documentary about the recent xenophobic attacks that took place in South Africa in April 2015. The documentary was filed in downtown Johannesburg a few weeks after the attacks and looks at the issue of xenophobia in a very honest and reflexive way.
Ukusiza Literacy Project – Mindset Channel DSTV
The Ukusiza Literacy Program is a project that is geared towards helping all educators to teach well by sharing authentic, effective and contextually relevant classroom practice through high quality video. The project also aims to help re-‐professionalize teaching by treating teachers as professionals and highly esteemed members of society. In 2014 Sihle Hlophe was commissioned to shoot three high quality teacher development videos at three different schools around Gauteng. The videos were distributed via broadcast television, the Internet, DVDs and USB devices.
As I Am -‐ NFVF Funded Short Film

In 2012, Sihle Hlophe was one of the winners of the NFVF Short Film Scriptwriting Competition. She used the prize money to produce her short film, “As I Am” in 2013. She was mentored by Mmabatho Kau (scriptwriting) and Ramadan Suleman (film directing). The film has been selected for screening at the Durban International Film Festival (2014), Mpumalanga International Film Festival (2014), Pan African Film Festival (2015), Fribourg International Film Festival (2015) and Zanzibar International Film Festival (2015)
